To create this photo in the style of Julian Opie I imported a picture of myself onto Adobe photoshop elements, I then created layers of colour on top of the initial image, such as; hair, neck, face, clothes and background. I used the magnetic lasso feature to draw around my face, neck and hair on top of the first image. I then selected colours from the original picture using the eyedropper tool to select my hair and skin colour. After colouring the basic parts of the image I drawn in my eyes, face and nose using the paint brush tool. To finish off the image i drawn a black line around the face to outline it.
For our preliminary task we made a lip sync video to 'Vengaboys - were going to Ibiza'. After shooting the footage we moved the video onto Final cut express and downloaded the music track from 'Zamzar' which sent us the song through an email. Creating this music video helped me to familiarise myself with the software on the Apple Mac computers, I used final cut to edit this and realised the difficulty of editing and composing footage. We did not experiment much with effects as we tried to focus on cutting many shots together to produce a complete lip sync video.
I uploaded both video footage and sound files to Final Cut from a memory stick, I then used the new techniques I had learnt from Final cut to edit the footage so it matched, I done this by editing the black areas out of the video footage and then cut the sound to the same length as the video, this then fitted with the sound track I had chosen. I have learnt numerous skills such as; how to crop the footage and sound, how to add transitions to help blend two different video clips together and also add video effects, these can change the colour to black and white, sepia etc. I also learnt how to change the browser views. I also learnt how to cut the videos and move them to different timings in the video, this is useful when inserting more or deleting footage. Then I cut the footage using 'in' and 'out' points to decrease the video clip before adding it to the final cut of my video, once I finished editing and cutting the footage I rendered the clip so that it would play correctly.
